If you’re not familiar with World Cardmaking Day, in a word, it’s a Blast. You can see the recorded event over at Craft Roulette’s YouTube channel. This was my creation …

My frosty snowman was hand drawn and colored with Copics. I wanted to make an Easel like card and found this cute tutorial. Below is the website with all the instructions!

You don’t always have to mask an image to create a background. Notice the “Halo” effect around the snowman. I did the snow hills and sky ink blending just up to the image!

I’ll definitely be doing more of these standup cards. So cute and useful.

  1. A lovely card Kathy, and your snowman is quite the cutie!

It’s summer here for Christmas, and where we live, we rarely even get even a flurry of snow, so snowmen are off my creative list 🙂

    1. You’ve inspired me to create a summer Christmas card. What is blooming? What’s the temp? Is a beach something? Tell me more!

      1. Flowers.. Christmas lilies and Pohutakawa trees are the main things that spring to mind. The tree is a native, and has a mass of red flowers. Sometimes called a ‘Christmas’ tree here.

Beaches, BBQ’s and picnics are common Christmas celebrations… also family gatherings…often with cold meats and salads, followed by ‘cool’ desserts… ice cream, jelly, trifle etc

Yes, it can be hot, and shade trees are in demand at picnic spots also. If there is a pool, river, lake or sea nearby swimming is a normal part of the day for the younger folk.

Temperatures are generally in the mid to high 20° C range… which must seem very foreign to you 🙂

So cute! Nicely colored. I like the pop that the easel card gives without having to add so much embellishments.

I will be honored to receive your digi snowman. What are your terms of use? Thank you.
