Sweet Baby Textured Card

If I’m stuck on a design, I pull out patterned paper, (something I don’t usually do) ribbons and my stash of cut bits, backgrounds and embossed scraps…….let the play begin!

Starting with the adorable baby from MO’s digital pencil, I colored with Copics with a favorite color combination of lavender, teal and soft grey-brown.

I start with the “knowns” . I know the size of the baby and the sentiment, so I went ahead and cut those panels. For the baby I embossed the frame using a die and embossing mat.

Now I just played with all the bits until the stars aligned. Nothing was glued until I was sure of the layout.

The sentiment was stamped in a coordinating ink on paper, then placed as a liner in the card.

How do you overcome a block? Would love to know!

  1. As I make cards with a specific person in mind, I usually think of their interests etc – sometimes they get something totally out of ‘left field’ that I have just devised from playing with supplies…

Love how you framed the image with the embossed die.. inspiring

    1. That’s a good point Maxine. Sometimes I’m stretched more making a card specifically for a person in mind. Left field definitely!
