I’m already thinking about Christmas. The decorations are definitely going up early this year! Peeking through the mouse hole, I think the mice agree with me 🎄🥰.

Creation

I do love little mice (only with scarves and hats though :)). This card was done by stamping directly on Neenah Desert Storm cardstock and colored with Copic markers. The string of lights from Maymay Made it were also stamped and colored and later, filled with glossy accents.

The faux wood was done by inking the Lumber embossing folder, then using a piece of desert storm, running it through the machine. Usually I recommend cutting the window first, but I wanted it to “flatten” a bit, so I cut the Arch window after the embossing was done.

Hint: Ink the flat side of your embossing folders with a brayer and repeat until you get the coverage you want.

With both the Christmas Sprigs and Seasonal Florals dies from Sizzix, I cut several sprigs from different color cardstock as well as white and did some ink blending on most.

Assembly was easy. I glued the scene behind the faux wood and then adhered it to the card base. For the finishing touches, I arranged the sprigs, added Ranger glitter drops in Red, Crystal and white all around. Then using a white gel pen I added some highlights to the scene here and there and some Wink of Stella to highlight some of the leaves. Finally I filled in the lights with glossy accents and let it dry over night. Let me know what you think! Hope this inspired you….❤️
