Hello beautiful! I like the saying “Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle”. How true is that! Sending a lovely, feminine card for birthday wishes, sprinkled with kindness, might just brighten someone’s day!

Creation

I love to mix white and cream colors. It creates a feel of understated elegance for a special birthday card. I envisioned a beautiful cake with pops of pink, so that was my color inspiration for the card.

The balloon was hand drawn and available for you to download here and colored with Copic alcohol markers …and you guessed it, more fussy cutting. I stamped the sentiment strips with a soft brown ink and die cut in strips. Using the Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched indented rectangle Die, I cut the white frame three times and glue them together for dimension. With a 5 x 7 piece of white card stock, I spritz with a little water to prevent cracking and used the Spellbinders Tufted Embossing folder for the background. I mounted the white frame to the embossed background with liquid glue and trimmed the excess with scissors. Using strong, double-sided adhesive I mounted the panel to a 5×7 (A7)cream card base.

💕Tip: I wanted a balanced card. So I decided to mount this towards the top of the card base and cut off about an inch of the card at the bottom. I’m never afraid to cut down a card base as it still will fit in a 5 x 7 envelope and mail just fine.

The balloon and sentiments are glued directly to the panel. The sentiment strips were multi layered so they naturally popped up on their own. For the finishing touches, I added just some quick pearl embellishments with Nuvo Crystal Drops Ivory, and some shimmer here and there with Wink of Stella clear glitter pen and it was done.
