A Paper Hug for Encouragement

I made this card for someone who is grieving the loss of a loved one. There is so little one can do to help those that are grieving, but every little hug counts. I know it’s easy for them to feel forgotten when everyone goes back to their lives, but their grief still remains. Sometimes a simple gesture to say, “I’m thinking about you” lets them know you care.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18

Creation

To create this card, I cut two A6 panels out of White card stock. Using my Misty, I stamped identical images on both panels using a soft grey ink from Momento. Next, I colored one of the panels with Copic markers then stamped the sentiment and heat embossed with gold powder. Using stitched rectangle dies, I cut down the black and white panel with one and then the color panel with a much smaller rectangle to layer on top. I finished off by cutting a black panel and gluing that and the black and white panel directly to a card base. With fun foam, I carefully layered the colored panel being careful to lineup the stamped images. For the finishing touches, I added a few gold embellishments.

I hope you enjoyed this technique today! Thanks for stopping by and hugs all around. ~Kathy
