A Classical Happy Birthday

Birthday hugs to the music lovers! I had to include this as it reminds me of my mom who is a phenomenal pianist. We were raised surrounded by music and praise. A wonderful legacy ❤️.

Inspiration

I love classical music. When I saw this beautiful rub-on, it spoke to me. It’s a card I would like to receive. When I think of the classics; roses, tapestries and elegance comes to mind, so the card idea was born. I would love your feedback in the comments below!

Creation

This is an A7 card.

  1. For the focal point, you can see details on how I created this easy shaker element at this post. It will change the way you make shaker cards of all sizes! The only difference for this card was I didn’t add a back to the shaker as the embossing folder was a perfect show-through.
  2. The sentiment was created with BetterPress – A little message sentiment (link below) and archival ink. Perfect for the feel of the card.
  3. I embossed watercolor cardstock for texture and interest. The folder I used is an old one, so I’m not sure of the manufacturer.
  4. Hint: every time I am cutting botanicals, I cut several white and vellum stems and store them in a small container. For this card I brought out my stash and created the bouquet and glued them together independently.
  5. Assembly: the embossed background was cut down to show a white border and attached to a 110lb white card base with liquid glue. The shaker was attached with strong double-sided tape. Before you completely attach it, tuck the bouquet in the corner with a dot of glue, then press the panel down.
  6. For embellishments, I added 3 pearls with Nuvo Crystal drops Ivory Seashell and a tiny satin bow. Easy and fast card to create!

Hugs to Crafty Companies

The beautiful sentiment is BetterPress A Little Message Sentiment, press plates and dies. You can check out scrapbookpal.com or it’s available and Simon Says Stamp.

The embossing folder is an old one, but there are many out there that are similar. Sizzix has many.

The shaker bits were from Honeybee Stamps.

Thanks for stopping by! Would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

Hugs all around,

Kathy
